Game Day...Thanksgiving Weekend

It's been a very busy week with Thanksgiving and painting my Dad's apartment and just my usual busy life stuff. I've been behind on my podcasts due to the other things going on at night but my house is in order so that makes me happy. We spent a very nice Thanksgiving Day here and having a long weekend is right up my alley.

Last night, I put away all of my fall decorations and will pull out the Christmas stuff this week. Having a full month this year gives me some extra time. I'm looking forward once again to Christmas this year because of my reduced shopping list. Last year, I convinced some family members to pare down and choose a name rather than spend money that we don't have on stuff that we don't need "just because".

I've really disliked the holidays in recent years because they're just so stressful and commercial. This year, I won't be out there with all the nuts shopping like crazy and getting harried. Just purchasing for the kids is a huge relief and I can focus on the reason for the season and soak it in.

This afternoon is the Bears game and I got up early to make my chili and get ready for the tailgate. I'll be heading into the shower soon and will begin packing up for our 10:45 departure and 4:15 kickoff. Thankfully, the weather is nice... cold but sunny and dry. After the last home game, I'm relieved at that! The Jets game and tailgate was a sog-fest!

Well... rambling on about nothing really.. guess I should get moving. (Honestly though, it wouldn't have killed me if this was an away game... 2 hours of my life instead of 15 for a home one.... sigh....)

Thankfulness..

Happy Thanksgiving to all... I'm here with the turkey and ham roasting, soup pot bubbling and a podcast under my belt already this morning. YIPPEE!! It's a rainy dreary day outside but warm and fuzzy inside :-)

Family will be arriving in about an hour and we're busily preparing foods and transforming the family room/Pats shrine to a dining hall. We're expecting close to 30 people and it'll be a tight squeeze but well worth it.

I'm such a lucky girl with so much to be thankful for... a wonderful family, my good health, a nice home, a job with kids and co-workers that I love and a pretty over-all comfortble existence. Most of all I'm am loved..... and for that I'm so very thankful.

May you feel as blessed...

Karen
