V-A-C-A-T-I-O-N

Wooot!! I love school vacation week. I've got so many ambitions and things on my To Do List but I'm thankful to have the time off to cross some of them off. I'm a bit sore right now since I got back to my lifting routine and today was a leg day. So, that means a few days of grabbing the wall to help me sit and taking the stairs very gingerly.

Things on my list this week: Working out, reading for my classes, taking two web exams, planning for school... Speaking of school, I've finally got a co-teacher to split the load with me and allow us to meet all of the kids needs. Things will be quite different for me when I head back to school after the vacation Finally!! It's been a very difficult year and it's a long time in coming. So, this week, I'll literally be thinking of a brand new program for my class and will be doing lots of research this week. Of course, there are tons of appointments scheduled for this week too, so it will likely fly.

Right now, it's freezing cold outside but we'll be heading to the hot tub for a soak before opening the wine and settling in for a night of movies and/or the Olympics.

Coffee's done perking so time to run!

Beautiful Birthday... and a Blizzard

This was a great weekend. Friday was my birthday (29 again!) and it was a very good day at work (thanks kids!). We had cake and everyone behaved! It's nice when I don't come home from work frustrated. At night, Al and I went out for dinner at McCormick and Schmicks at the Biltmore. They print out a special menu with your birthday wish on it for you and throw in a free dessert. We had a nice quiet dinner and then went out for a drink while waiting to pick Jake and his friends up at the mall. Then, we came home, had a nice bottle of wine and watched some movies.

On Saturday, we headed out to eat at Casserinos then went to PPAC to see Joseph and the Technicolor Dreamcoat which was a nice surprise. It's always good when you go into something without any preconcieved notions. It was quite enjoyable. Then, I came home, cleaned like a banshee.... Ahhhhh... one of life's pleasures for me is having a spotless house! We watched some movies at night (more wine :-) then went to bed awaiting the upcoming blizzard.

Today, it snowed like crazy!! I love snow and love it when we actually get what they predict. We've gotten over a foot already and it's still coming down. I think it's actually tapering off now and the wind is starting to die down. I'm still hoping for an extra day off tomorrow!!

The Winter Olympics have started... I've loved the Olympics since I was a kid and will try to watch as much as I can. Of course, we'll have to squeeze in our nightly Sopranos viewing.

So, today, I worked on some work from my class and got caught up on my coursework and stayed in my sweats all day :-) Like I said, it was a GREAT weekend!!

A New Week

Tonight is the SuperBowl and it feels weird not being there. I'm actually indifferent about the outcome. I'll be watching but I'm not really pulling for anyone. On one hand, I'd like to see Bettis get his ring before retirement but part of me is selfish and I have a hard time rooting for an AFC team because I covet the 3 that we've won this decade. So, I'm actually hoping for Seattle... especially for Lofa Tatupu (who loves Tedy!) Pre-game is on and I just got in so I'll settle in later but have some work to do for my class online first.

The week was busy as always and I've started my classes so my time has been spread even thinner... Jake's wrestling again for kid's club and we just got back from spending 8 hours there. He's recovered from the loss last week, shook it off, accepted it and left with 2nd place today :-) We're not going to be able to go every week because of CCD but he'll make it to a few meets. Any extra exposure and practice is good. He's got a great work ethic and as mentioned in the last post, I'm extremely proud of him.

So... I'm off to take a test, read my email and grab a bite to eat.
